Maj. Gen. Mohammad Bagheri told IRIB on Monday that a new set of missions had been recommended by the Leader of the Islamic Revolution which included improved public mobilization as well; “directives by the Leader comprise the body of Armed Forces grand scheme of architecture; today, in a totally different situation in the region and with the rise of new sources of threat including ISIL in Iraq and Syria and other threats beyond our borders, we have been improving our capabilities during past four decades which contributed greatly to our present strong position, which is far different and better than that on early years of the Revolution,” he said.
“Response to these diverse threats poses priorities for the Armed Forces; in border provinces, in northwest and southeast, we have bolstered defense lines to bestow upon the central regions an exemplary level of security. With beyond borders, in our southern waters, Army Navy have been strong maneuverings in far waters as northern Indian Ocean and beyond, and will improve further its marine patrolling in the face of threats,” he concluded.
